The info in this RT news segment is *slightly* out of date. iPhones, with iOS 4.3x+ (or so) *do* have encryption of user data. It’s called ‘data protection’ and is keyed to your password (so 4-digit ‘Simple Passcode’ isn’t too strong, but you can make longer ones).
