No since u have to download almost everything on itunes. But if u download points on itunes it is on that and not on your personal computer.

just either buy cd’s or ask a friend to burn u a cd to put on itunes
No, I-tunes is the only one that is compatible with the I pod. I have tried sites like Rhapsody, Napster and some other ones. All the legal ones that you have to pay for are not I-pod compatible.
But you can buy songs from any of the sites that offer that and burn them to CD and than you can put them on to the I-tunes.
The songs are between 0.44 cents to 0.99.
Walmart is the cheapest one to download songs from. Good Luck!!
